AFFORDABLE HOUSING ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Advises the Board of County Commissioners on policies regarding housing affordable to extremely low, very low, low and moderate income households and approves impact fee waivers for homes affordable to extremely low, very low and low income households.
One (1) vacancy for a resident who is actively engaged as a for-profit provider of affordable housing to complete a term ending November 30, 2009.
PUBLIC LAND ACQUISITION ADVISORY COUNCIL

Evaluates parcels of land based on methodology approved by the Board of County Commissioners (BCC), makes acquisition recommendations to the BCC and conducts management oversight of lands acquired under the Public Land Acquisition Program. Members must be registered voters and residents of Lake County.
Seeking one (1) member with technical knowledge in archaeology to serve a three-year term ending October 1, 2011.
ZONING BOARD

Responsible for reviewing proposed changes to existing zoning on a development specific basis, evaluating conformance with the County’s Comprehensive Plan, and making change recommendations to the County Commission for adoption. All deliberations and discussion will be advertised and conducted in a public hearing setting, and as such are subject to the State’s open records laws.
Appointees are required to file a financial disclosure statement in conformance with statute. Although no specific experience is required, consideration will be given to professional expertise, areas of interest, community involvement and other factors as deemed appropriate by members of the County Commission. Upcoming vacancies for one (1) representative each from Commission Districts 1, 3 and 5 to serve four-year terms beginning Feb. 1. 2009.
