 Recycling Program

Residents of Lake County are encouraged to advantage of the recycling program.

The following materials may be placed in a curbside recycling bin:

Newspaper or magazines Place loose in bin.
Do not place newspaper in brown paper bags or plastic bags.
Plastic Beverage Containers Remove lids and rinse containers.
Recycle plastic bottles having a neck, #1 through #7, any color
Clear, brown and green glass Recycle clear glass food and beverage containers.
Remove lids, and rinse container.
Paper labels do not need to be removed.
Aluminum Beverage Cans Rinse and recycle all aluminum beverage cans.
Steel Cans Rinse and place in bin.
Recycle all steel (tin) food and pet food cans.
Household batteries Place batteries in clear plastic bag before placing in bin.
Cardboard Corrugated cardboard (moving boxes) must be flattened to fit underneath the yellow recycling bin. Paperboard boxes (cereal and cookie boxes) must be flattened to fit inside the recycling bin.

The following materials are recyclable but must be brought to the drop-off locations:
Please, do not place these items by the curb, they will not be picked up.

Electronics

Examples of Electronics waste are computers, televisions, VCRs, Fax machines, CD players, and Stereos.
