The Lake County Fire Rescue Division Administration office is responsible for the day-to-day activities that support the Division. These responsibilities include budget preparation and control, capital purchases, communications support, public education, logistics, personnel equipment allotment, facilities maintenance and fleet maintenance.
Communications
Administration provides support for the agency’s telecommunications systems. This coordination includes liaison duty with emergency dispatch services from Lake-Sumter Emergency Medical Services, along with providing management of mobile and portable radios, alphanumeric pagers, telephone, cellular and fax systems.
Education/Training
The EMS and Education division falls under the direction of the Assistant Chief – Administration and is responsible for all training, retraining, and medical related issues. This section oversees the medical related education and continuing education, compliance with State and local law, medical inventory and supplies, the quality improvement process and is the liaison between the Department and the Medical Director. On the fire related issues the focus is on training and safety. This section is responsible for career development and oversees all new employees throughout their first year of employment. Public education such as CPR , First Aid, and fire extinguisher classes are coordinated through this section. Logistics
Administration provides logistical support for personnel through the purchase of uniforms and equipment, fire station supplies and facility preservation. The supply side of this section is charged with the responsibility to purchase, warehouse, inventory and deliver to all Division office and fire station sites.
Maintenance
Administration provides fleet support that includes the research and purchase of fire service vehicles, and the preventive maintenance and repair of the vehicles and other equipment.
