Windows Media Player
We recommend Windows Media Player as the default digital video player of the Lake County website. Videos viewed in Windows Media Player will not only be of a higher quality but they will begin playing faster. Windows Media Player will determine the speed of your internet connection and automatically serve you the appropriate quality video file. If you are on a broadband connction then you will receive a large, high quality video. If you are on a dial up connection then you will receive a smaller video.
A. There could be several reasons why the video would not play correctly in Windows Media Player. The most common is that all of the available video streams are currently being used. To ensure that you receive a quality video feed, we have a limit on the number of videos that can be viewed at the same time. If all of the available video feeds are being used, then you may receive an error message when trying to view the video. If this is the case you can try our alternative Quicktime video. Quicktime videos can be played through your browser or you can also download them to your computer.
A. The videos on our website are encoded in both Windows Media and Quicktime formats. Windows users will be able to choose between Windows Media and Quicktime. If you have an Apple computer you will only be able to view the Quicktime version of the movies.
For Windows Media, we recommend that you use Windows Media Player 10 to experience the highest quality video playback. Earlier versions will also work though.
